The Ogun State government on Friday awarded Botsurance Limited, Heasy Resource Technology, and Little Hearts with its inaugural Community Catalyst Awards.
In partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ designed the Digital Entrepreneurship Competition to recognize digital innovators whose products or services have facilitated creative solutions in the midst of the pandemic while positively impacting Nigerian society.
According to the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, “The Ogun State Government is committed to supporting activities that drive growth, promote efficiency and target our people and most importantly foster job creation.”
Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser to the governor on ICT, highlighted Nigeria’s position as a hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, expressing pleasure in recognizing the state’s young innovators and supporting their development.
From 112 applications, 12 startups underwent a rigorous selection process, culminating in Botsurance Limited, Healthbotics Limited, and Tiny Hearts Technology as the top three.
The winners, determined by pre-conference interviews and live voting, will receive mentorship and a portion of the N10,000,000 cash prize, sponsored by Zenith Bank and other conference supporters.
Botsurance is a tech startup providing genuine and affordable insurance to people in rural areas, while also providing extra income for the people in the community, using its digital platform, driven by AI.
Heasy Resource Technology utilizes AI to streamline HR processes and communication, driving growth through user-friendly applications.
Little Hearts addresses the scarcity of phytotherapy treatment for jaundiced newborns with its “Crib Aglow” unit, saving lives by deploying treatments to healthcare centers across Nigeria.
The awards were announced during the Ogun State’s digital transformation event series, focusing on advancing Nigeria’s digital economy.
The event facilitated conversations between public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in delivering a trusted, responsible, and inclusive digital economy.
