The management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has raised the alarm over its missing and perhaps kidnapped Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, Mr Okun Christopher and his driver, Mr Daniel Effiong Asibong while on official duties.
NYSC revealed that the duo might have been kidnapped traveling between Delta and Akwa-Ibom State on transit to Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital, on Monday, July 29, on the official Hilux vehicle they were travelling on.
The scheme’s Director, Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, who made the disclosure in a statement in Abuja, lamented that all efforts to locate their whereabout has yielded no result till date.
Titled missing person, the statement read: “This is to inform the general public that two officers of NYSC got missing between Delta and Akwa-Ibom State on Monday, July 29, 2024 while on official duties.
“The NYSC Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, Mr Okun Christopher and his driver, Mr Daniel Effiong Asibong were on transit to Uyo in a white official Hilux vehicle with registration number 27D31FG when the unfortunate incident happened.
Begging for information about them, the scheme’s management further added; “Meanwhile, all efforts to locate their whereabout has yielded no result till date. Anyone with useful information regarding their whereabout should contact any of the 37 NYSC State Secretariats, Area Offices and the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja or the nearest police station or other security agencies.”
