The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Audi, has assured the public of a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
NSCDC has deployed a large number of personnel across the country for the celebration.
A statement on Saturday, by the NSCDC spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, confirmed that the corps had activated its officers in various zones, states, and formations to ensure a smooth holiday period.
He also addressed recent security concerns, particularly the attacks on pipeline installations, emphasising that any act of vandalism targeting critical national assets and infrastructure would not be tolerated.
Audi commended the joint efforts of the armed forces, the Department of State Services, the police, and the NSCDC in thwarting a recent attempt by vandals to attack oil installations in the Allu-Rumuekpe area of Rivers State.
He stressed that effective collaboration among security agencies was key to combating crime and maintaining public safety.
