Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), today, paraded four suspects who specialise in vandalising and carting away traffic light poles and other Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The suspects include Japheth Adams (male, 21 years), from Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State and his accomplise, Friday Ojo, 51 years from Ojo Local Government of Lagos State.
According to the Commandant, FCT, Dr Olusola Odumosu, both Japheth and Friday were arrest about 1 am on Wednesday, around Eden Garden in Utako area of FCT.
The other two suspects, the commandant, said, were Ibrahim Aliyu, male, 19 years from Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State and Hassan Abdullahi, 23 years, from Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State. They were caught along Moshood Abiola Stadium, National Hospital Junction about 2 am.
While the suspects are still undergoing interrogation, Odumosu vowed to make FCT unbearable for suspects. He told them (suspects) to either repent, relocate or face the wrath of the law.
“Consequently, I wish to assure the FCT Minister and all residents of FCT that we remain committed to fulfilling our promise to bring to justice these unrelenting vandals who persist in perpetrating evil against our national assets for their selfless gains
“Again, i am reaffirming my resolve this day that the FCT is a no-go area for vandals, scavengers and all the hoodlums sleeping under the bridges to vandalise and steal public infrastructure; attack unsuspecting commuters and other residents of FCT” he said.
While warning the vandals, Odumosu swore to continue the onslaught against vandals in the FCT.
” I am not going back on my earlier pronouncement that you either repent, relocate or face the wrath of the law. We are not going to rest on our oars untill all of you (vandals) are flushed out of the FCT” he said
