Governors from the northern states are currently in a closed-door meeting with the National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and all the service chiefs.
The meeting is being held at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Although the details of the meeting are still sketchy, it may not be unconnected to the incessant killings and kidnapping of unsuspecting citizens in the region.
Parts of the region had recently recorded attacks by rampaging bandits, causing chaos across the country.
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that on March 7, bandits abducted 287 students from the LEA Primary and Junior Secondary School, Kuriga, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Similarly, about 112 internally displaced persons were abducted at Gamboru Ngala in Borno State.
In the same week, no fewer than 15 students were abducted in Sokoto State by bandits.
