The leadership of the Northern Community in Imo State has pledged to continue to support Governor Hope Uzodimma on his 2nd term in office.
The body applauded Governor Hope Uzodimma on his 2nd term inaguration in office, describing it as a mile stone acheivment to the people of the state.
The body made their expression known through the immediate past Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Gender and Northern Affairs, Hon. Suleiman Ibrahim Suleiman in a press statement issued Saturday in Owerri.
He said that the inauguration ceremony of Governor Hope Uzodimma is the best anybody can think of which has never happened in any part of the country.
According to him, the inauguration recorded who is who from the Federal government level, such as Mr President, the Former President of the country, serving governors, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ministers, and National Assembly members, among other personalities in the country.
He said: “The 2nd term inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodimma was the best among other inaugurations in the country. From the beginning of the country till date, it has never happened in any part of the country”.
The former appointee said that the governor actually merited his 2nd term in office, having demonstrated enough capacity, competence and clear service delivery, especially in the areas of infrastructural development as well as building human capacity.
Suleiman, who described Governor as a consummate politician and a silent achiever said that Imo State deserves someone like Governor Uzodimma to not only transform the state but to take the state to her expected level among the comity of states in the country.
He recalled that the 1st tenure of Governor Uzodimma recorded tremendous successes in all aspects of human endeavours, adding that his 2nd tenure would no doubt witness unprecedented achievements that cannot be compared with the administration of his predecessors.
The former governor’s aide who assured of the total support of the Northern Communities living in all parts of the state, pledged strong commitment of the leadership of the Northern Communities and every Northerner to the Government of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
He said: “as long as the Northerners continue to live in Imo State, we are bound to continue to support Governor Hope Uzodimma on his laudable programmes which is aimed at transforming the state”.
The Northern leader declared that the Northern Communities have had it good in the course of living with their host communities for many years devoid of any form of clash or trouble with their host state.
According to him the Norther Communities have lived in the state for many years carrying out their business yet without harrasment, molestation and intimidation from the citizens of the state.
The Community paid special tribute to the Governor for his special love of the community and for comming to their needs whenever the need arises, among such assistance include his last sponsorship of the Northerners to travel Hajji for prayers last year at Meca.
