The distribution of iftar food commenced on Saturday evening at Rahamaniyya School, Sabon Fege, Gusau, and Imam Malik Almajiri School, Talata Mafara, in Zamfara State. Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Fatimah Y. Barrister Sani explained that given the high number of vulnerable families in Zamfara State, 4,000 individuals have been earmarked to benefit from the initiative.
“This initiative seeks to distribute essential grains to 1,000 families and provide iftar meals to 10,000 individuals, ensuring that those less fortunate have access to nutritious meals during this holy month,” he said.
He further noted that the programme aligns with the organisation’s commitment to humanitarian service and poverty alleviation, made possible through donations from well-meaning individuals and partners.
“Through generous contributions, Al-Sadaqah Jariyah is working towards its goal of raising ₦37,500,000 for food packs and ₦10,500,000 for community iftar meals,” he added.
Emphasising the significance of the initiative, he described Ramadan as a time of generosity, reflection, and kindness.
“This initiative is our way of ensuring that those facing hardship can also share in the blessings of this season,” he said.
The beneficiaries, including widows, orphans, and displaced persons, expressed deep gratitude for the support, acknowledging its significant impact on vulnerable populations.
