The 24th edition of NOG Energy Week is set to drive critical conversations around enhancing Africa’s stake in the global energy industry. Scheduled to take place from 29 June to 3 July 2025 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, the event will convene top leaders, policymakers, regulators, and energy professionals from across the globe.

Held under the theme “Accelerating Global Energy Progress through Investment, Partnerships and Innovation,” this year’s event aims to highlight Africa’s role in driving global energy transformation while unlocking emerging business opportunities within the continent.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Odiri Umusu, Director – Nigeria, dmg Nigeria Events, remarked: “For over two decades, NOG Energy Week has been pivotal in shaping Africa’s energy journey—facilitating dialogue that influences policy, attracts investment, and drives industry growth. As we convene for the 24th edition, the stakes are even higher, with global energy policies shifting and the demand for resource optimisation and sustainability rising. This platform remains essential. NOG Energy Week 2025 will not only address pressing challenges but also showcase practical strategies to strengthen Africa’s global energy footprint.”

The event will feature high-level discussions on key topics including policy development, innovative financing models, and cutting-edge technologies essential to Africa’s energy transition.

Organised by dmg Nigeria Events, a subsidiary of dmg events—producers of global conferences such as ADIPEC and Gastech—NOG Energy Week is the leading gathering point for stakeholders in sub-Saharan Africa’s energy sector.

As the world navigates an evolving energy landscape, this year’s edition will delve into actionable solutions to enhance energy security, economic resilience, and sustainable development. Recent comments from the U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, have further underscored the urgency for balanced energy policies that support economic growth while embracing environmental responsibility. Wright emphasised Africa’s potential to leverage its vast natural gas resources alongside investments in both traditional and emerging energy technologies—an outlook that aligns with NOG Energy Week’s mission.

The global energy dialogue is also being shaped by significant developments, including the new Trump administration’s energy policies, evolving trade agreements, and a renewed emphasis on fossil fuels. These shifts present both challenges and opportunities for Africa, reinforcing the need for the continent to strategically position itself within this changing context.

Initiatives such as the African Energy Bank and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) are ushering in a new era of regional cooperation, unlocking fresh opportunities for cross-border collaboration, large-scale project financing, and expanded energy access. NOG Energy Week 2025 will provide a critical platform to explore how these initiatives can be harnessed to drive long-term progress.

As Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria continues to play a central role in shaping the continent’s energy future. With significant developments underway in oil production, gas expansion, and refining capabilities, this year’s event will focus on pathways to strengthen Nigeria’s energy security and sustainable growth—laying the foundation for broader progress across Africa and the global energy sector.
