The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Oyo State Directorate, has warned Nigerians about the dire consequences of scooping fuel from fallen trucks.

The Oyo State Director of the Agency, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan, stated that “scooping fuel from a fallen tanker can be deadly, causing fire outbreaks, explosions, loss of lives and property, and environmental pollution.”

She urged citizens to prioritize safety, noting that fuel is highly inflammable. “When a tanker falls, leave the vicinity immediately and notify the relevant authorities to handle the incident professionally.”

She emphasized that emergency responders are trained to deal with such situations safely and efficiently. “Let’s not interfere with their work. Instead, wait patiently for them to clear the tanker safely.”

Dr. Afolayan appealed to citizens to learn from past tragic occurrences and prioritize safety over immediate gains.
