The Osun State government has said there is no traditional title of Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa in the state which is being claimed by Dr Olatunde Oginni.
In response to a request by a law firm, First Bethel Solicitors, to confirm the title and the holder, the state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, in a letter to the law firm on Thursday, April 18, and signed by Wale Alliyu, for the Permanent Secretary, said that the assertion that Dr Olatunde Oginni was installed at the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa by the state government on January 20, 2012, is far from the truth.
The statement added that there is no title in the state bearing Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa, stating that the government only recognises Likure of Odogbo-Ijesa, who is Oba Adedapo Samson Adewuyi, who was installed by Governor Gboyega Oyetola on November 10, 2022.
The government also said it has a letter by the Owa Obokun Adimula Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, which was written to the Commissioner of Police in the state, dissociating the whole Ijesaland from the title being claimed by Dr Olatunde Oginni.
