The Federal College of Expertise Akure, Ondo State, has refuted a web based report that some professors on the college are pretend, describing the report as a mere fiction.
The net platform reported that no fewer than 100 professors in some Nigerian universities are pretend.
In line with the report, a few of the names on the record of faux professors are allegedly from FUTA.
The college, in a press release issued on Monday by its Registrar, Mr Charles Adeleye, mentioned it had no pretend professors.
Adeleye famous that not one of the names on the record existed in FUTA.
The assertion learn, “The eye of the Federal College of Expertise Akure has been drawn to a purported record of faux professors making the rounds on varied media platforms.
“The names paraded below FUTA are pure fiction and no such names exist within the workers record of the college . Names of all bonafide members of workers and people within the professorial cadre are listed within the college calendar. And the names of all professors within the college will also be accessed within the Order of Proceedings for the thirty third Convocation Ceremony which was revealed in December 2023.”
The registrar urged members of the general public to fully disregard the “fictitious publication and deal with these circulating it as purveyors of lies and falsehood.”
The controversial on-line stories listed 9 names allegedly working with the FUTA.
A number of the names embody Prof. Titi Adejumo, Prof. Olumide Adebanjo, Prof. Ayodele Adewole, Prof. Ayoade Adewumi and Prof. Alaba Adewale.
Others are Prof. Funmilola Adeyem, Prof. Kehinde Adelekan, Prof. Taiwo Adekoya and Prof. Adetokunbo Ajani. However the establishment denied that these names have been on their payroll.
A number of universities, together with the College of Ibadan, College of Ilorin, Babcock College, and Covenant College, have responded to allegations of getting pretend professors on their payrolls.
They’ve launched statements urging for calm.
