The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mrs Kemi Nandap, has solicited the cooperation of Nigerian border communities for effective security at the nation’s borders.
The Comptroller General made the call while interacting with the border communities at the Maigatari International Border in Jigawa State during her official visit to the state.
She explained that the service needs the support of all stakeholders to ensure the safety of Nigeria’s borders.
Mrs Nandap also expressed concern over the recent cases of human trafficking involving underage girls in the country.
She urged the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the National Association of Transport Owners (NATO) to assist in monitoring and providing information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“Most of these acts are being carried out through our roads,” she said.
She assured personnel of welfare packages and motivation for all hardworking staff.
