The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) has slated the 23rd and 24th of July to hold its 2024 flagship conference for women in management and leadership known as Women in Management and Leadership (WIMLEAD), with the theme, Digital Transformation and Women Leadership, at NECA House, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos.
A statement issued by the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Institute, Mrs Taiwo Ganiyat Olusesi, explained that experts from management, administration and leadership space would x-ray how digital transformation affects women’s involvement in leadership across spheres.
Olusesi affirmed that WIMLEAD which started twenty-three years ago has become an important platform for women leaders in both private and public sectors of the nation’s economy. “It is a platform that usually brings women together to brainstorm and propose solutions to issues that directly affect them at the workplace, the economy, and the home front.
“It has attained such a reputation that it attracts distinguished ladies in positions of authority and has become a major item in the annals of women’s discourse,” the statement added.

Olusesi who said that the conference would come in the form of action-based learning, group case presentations and interactive sessions listed the sub-themes to include leveraging technology for career advancement for women; women leadership in the c-suite for gender parity; innovative solutions for women empowerment, and health talk: self-care strategies for women leaders.
The statement further revealed that the conference will be headlined with presentations by women who have distinguished themselves in different works of life sharing their experiences with participants on how they were able to break the glass ceiling to get to the top.
Speakers at the conference include; Mrs Solape Akinpelu, the Chief Executive Officer/Co-Founder, Hervest; Dr Yemisi Adeyeye, Managing Director of Lifefount Hospital; Melanie Ayoola, Executive Director of Trantor IT Infrastructure Services Ltd.; Mrs Amaka Bifom, Director of Human Resource, TGI Group, and Toyin Bashir, Partner, Banwo and Ighodalo.
“It is hoped that at the end of the conference, the participants will bring the experiences and knowledge gained to bear on the performance of their jobs and also impact positively on the economy,” the registrar assured.
