Former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Kayode Oyin-Zubair, at the weekend, said that spiritual solution is the only panacea to the nation’s myriad of problems.
Speaking with journalists on the sideline of the annual spiritual gathering he convened at the First ECWA Church, Ilorin, titled; Shabach Praise, Oyin-Zubair opined that neither economic nor political solutions would ease Nigeria out of her present challenges.
The Kwara governor’s former aide on Community Intervention, lamented security problems in some parts of the country as well as economic woes, saying that the situation had placed the citizens in various untold hardships.
He called on all captains of other sectors of the economy to bring their expertise to the table toward revamping the country, saying that spiritual efforts should take the lead in finding lasting solutions to the country’s situation.
“Though I am a politician, but it is now obvious that it’s only spiritual efforts that have not been fully employed in tackling the nation’s problems.
“I am a politician, yet I still feel the need for a spiritual approach. Let other professionals too tackle the nation’s problem from their own professional angle”, he said.
He also said that he got the inspiration to convey the annual praise singing when he realised that Nigerians are too far away from God, adding that, “there is the need to bring them back to God”.
“Though fortune has been sunk into this annual event but there is no amount of money that is worth the nation’s problem and the lives of its youths”, he said, while listing banditry, kidnapping, economic paralysis among others as problems which the nation’s youth had to contend with.
He enjoined the Nigerian youths to turn to God and imbibe all His commandments.
In his sermon, the Minister, Reverend Owojaiye Moses Babatomiwa, urged the congregation to prioritize peace among themselves as emphasized by Jesus Christ, describing it as the lasting solution to restful life.
