The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo and his counterpart from Niger State, Umaru Bago have called for unity, faith, peace, and progress in the country as the nation celebrates its 64th Independent anniversary.
Bago called on Nigerians to deepen their prayers for the peace and prosperity of the nation.
The governor, in a message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim on Tuesday said the nation is indeed going through a difficult time at the moment and acknowledged the prevailing harsh economy, orchestrated by several factors, and encourages the people to strengthen their faith in God as government at all levels are making frantic efforts to ameliorate their sufferings and stabilize the economy.
According to the Governor “the challenges may be enormous, they are however surmountable, and there would be light at the end of the tunnel by the grace of God”.
In his part, Govenor Ododo, reflecting on the sacrifices of national heroes and the challenges faced by the nation highlighted the importance of recognizing the past while working towards a brighter future.
Addressing the diverse audience of Kogites and Nigerians at large, Governor Ododo praised the resilience and strength of the Nigerian people in the face of adversity.
He commended the efforts of past leaders in guiding the nation through difficult times and acknowledged the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for its bold and transformative reforms.
With a focus on economic stability and social welfare, Governor Ododo lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to addressing long-standing structural issues and implementing measures to support the most vulnerable citizens.
He emphasized the importance of patience and support as the nation navigates through these reforms, highlighting the need for collective efforts to build a better Nigeria for all.
