The federal government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to celebrate Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the holidays, extending heartfelt congratulations to Christians nationwide. He urged them to reflect the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ, who died for humanity’s redemption.
Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to use the holidays to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and stability. He reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at fostering national growth and development.
He also encouraged acts of kindness and generosity towards neighbours.
In a statement, the minister wished Christians a joyful Easter and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
