Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has warned that Nigeria must not be a neo-colonial stooge to France.
Sani made the remark amid President Bola Tinubu’s call for French investors to come to Nigeria.
Posting on X, the former lawmaker welcomed the decision of French investors to invest in Nigeria.
He wrote: “Improving Trade, Business, Educational, Scientific and Cultural relations with France is a welcome development. But we must not be their political or neo-colonial stooge in West Africa.”
Tinubu, who is currently on a state visit to France, had urged investors to flood Nigeria because the country is open for business.
Tinubu assured that his administration is creating an enabling environment for French investors to thrive.
He spoke on Thursday during a joint briefing with the French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
Tinubu disclosed that his administration is working to stabilize the security system in Nigeria.
