The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, has approved the appointment of Mallam Jaafar Ahmed as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BOT, of the Teachers Social Security Scheme, End-Well, in the state.
The Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Union, Comrade Musa Kuta Umaru, in a statement, said the appointment is for an initial term of three years and takes effect from January this year.
While congratulating the new Chairman of the BOT on the appointment, Umaru charged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in moving the Teachers End-Well Scheme to greater successes.
“We urged the appointee to see the appointment as a recognition of his capacity and competence to consolidate the gains of the scheme and strengthen the trust between the union and its members,” he stated.
The Union also assured Mallam Jaafar Ahmed of the support of the state wing Executive in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Responding, the new Chairman of the BOT, Ahmed, accepted the appointment while promising to uphold the confidence reposed in him.
He assured the Union of discharging the responsibilities of the office with sincerity, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Teachers End-Well Scheme.
