The Niger State Government has officially received the relief fund of N100 million from the House of Representatives, dedicated to supporting the victims of the tragic Diko Junction, in Gurara LGA of the State’s Petrol tanker explosion.
During a formal presentation at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, handed over 10 cheque of N10 million each to the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The Governor expressed his heartfelt gratitude for this generous contribution, emphasising that it reflects a deep sense of compassion and commitment towards the affected victims and their families.
Governor Umaru Bago assured that the funds would be effectively channeled to support the families affected by the unfortunate incident through the Niger State Disaster Management funds.

In his remarks, Speaker Abbas articulated that this donation fulfills a promise made during a condolence visit to the Niger State government, following the devastating fire disaster that resulted in the loss of several lives as many others were injured and significant properties were damaged.
While acknowledging that the financial assistance may not completely address the needs of those affected, the Speaker affirmed that it symbolizes the House of Representatives’ enduring love and concern for the people in distress.
He reiterated the commitment of the House to collaborate with the State government and provide ongoing support to the community in times of hardship.
