The Niger State government has suspended its ongoing tour of Zone B to mourn the death of the Chairman of Katcha local government area, Danlami Abdullahi Saku.
Saku died in a fatal auto crash along Kwakuti on Tuesday 9th December, 2024.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Binta Mamman in a statement said against this backdrop, the state Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago postponed the tour till January 2025 as a sign of respect.
According to her, “Governor Bago has declared that the Fidda’u prayer which will be handled by the Director General Religious Affairs, Dr Umar Farooq Abdullahi will come up tomorrow, Friday after Jumaat at the Minna Central mosque”.
Recall the Governor had toured local government areas in Zones A and C where he inspected ongoing projects across the state.
Bago then prayed Allah to make Aljanna Firdausi the final abode of the deceased and comfort the late Chairman’s family and also the people of Katcha.
