Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has launched an initiative aimed at repositioning the state-owned moribund media houses.
The Governor stated this while speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Honourable Binta Mamman, at the 2025 budget defence and screening exercise before the House Committee on Information at the Niger State House of Assembly Complex, Minna.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Ministry, the Commissioner expressed the ministry’s commitment towards effective information dissemination in conformity with the New Niger initiatives of the Governor Umaru Bago-led administration’s New Niger Agenda to key sectors including education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
The spokesperson of the state also explained that the 2025 budget is more than just a financial document, highlighting that it serves as a roadmap towards achieving the New Niger Agenda of the State Governor.
She assured the chairman and the committee members of the ministry’s commitment and dedication towards the implementation of the budget’s contents to the letter.
The House Committee Chairman on Information and Member representing Lavun Constituency, Hon. Ndagi Baba, underscored the importance of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) generating revenue streams to support the New Niger Agenda.
He called on the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary to explore avenues to enhance the ministry’s revenue generation drive.
The Chairman thanked the management and staff for their commitment and zeal to achieve the executive arm of the government’s agenda.
