Wife of Niger Governor, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago has called for more support and increased awareness of the Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project.
She stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists in Minna over the weekend by her Press Secretary, Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano during an advocacy visit on AGILE to the Palace of the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
Hajiya Fatima Bago noted that AGILE which is a World Bank-assisted project will provide incentives to enhance quality education by increasing the enrolment and retention rates for Adolescent girls in schools.
She said the project is indeed a beacon of hope, that will strive to empower girls in Niger State and other States where it would be domesticated.
Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago thereby called on all to intensify efforts to ensure the success of this project.
According to her; “We must all lend our voices in the struggle to ensure our adolescent girls receive quality education.”
She assured me of her resolve to work with all stakeholders to ensure the success of the AGILE Project.
The First Lady was in company of the wife of the Speaker, Niger House of Assembly, Hajiya Hassana Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, and the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, and other aides.
