It was a moment of grief at a three-day special fidau organised by the wife of Niger Governor, Hajiya Fatima Bago, for late Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba, wife of the State Deputy Governor.
The prayer session was held at the Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre in Minna on Friday.
Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba died on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 in the morning after a brief illness leaving behind her husband and two children.
The State’s First Lady, Hajiya Fatima Bago, expressed sadness over the death of Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba, saying that her death has thrown the entire state into a moment of grief and mourning.
She said the death of Hajiya Zainab Yakubu Garba came as a shock and the entire state was sad about it, adding that Almighty Allah the giver of life takes life whenever it pleases him.
“We gathered here to pray for her gentle soul, and for Allah to make the grave easy for her,” she remarked.
The wife of the Governor. However called on the entire people of the state to continue to pray for her gentle soul, saying that her death should serve as a lesson to all that death is inevitable.
Prayers were conducted by various Islamic clergywomen such as a renowned Islamic clergywoman in the State, Mallama Kadijat Dzukogi, amongst others.
