Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended the Face of Culture Africa Winner, Manyi Affangha, for her impactful interventions in the country.
Dabiri-Erewa gave the commendation, during a courtesy visit made by Affangha and her team to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.
Represented by, Director, Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, she said Affangha’s zeal to use her platform to curb hunger, poverty and female-child abuse, has earned her this lofty opportunity to enhance her portfolio.
Dabiri-Erewa, equally an advocate for youth, encouraged the Nigerian Beauty Queen to mentor more younger Nigerians, especially as most youths have resorted to crime and other societal ills.
The NiDCOM Chairman advised the Face of Culture Africa Queen, to represent the nation, well, and utilise the new skills to be learnt, for national development.
Following her winning the Face of Culture Africa, Affangha got nominated to represent Nigeria at the UN Best Diplomats Conference holding in London in September.
Affangha, recently nominated to represent Nigeria at the UN Best Diplomats Conference in London this September, expressed her surprise and determination to uphold Nigeria’s reputation.
She aims to focus on poverty alleviation, girl-child education, and youth empowerment through her initiatives, starting that states like Rivers, Cross Rivers, Enugu and the Federal Capital Territory have benefited from her projects since she emerged winner in 2023.
Affangha promised to leverage her influence to promote African culture and thanked Dabiri-Erewa for her support.
