The new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Katsina Sector Command, CC Aliyu Maaji has warned staff of the Command against extorting motorists.

Maaji, who gave the warning when he assumed office in Katsina on Tuesday, said that bribery would not be tolerated and any staff found guilty would be shown the way out.

He further urged the personnel to key into the Corps Marshall’s policy thrust by putting in their best to create a good public image for the corp.

He stated that plans were underway to introduce a monthly stakeholders’ forum to create more awareness and collaborative efforts in the state.

The sector commander thanked the state government and members of the press who were on ground to receive him.

He assured that he would work towards ensuring road safety and safe driving across the state, while calling on the staff to redouble their commitment to duty.

Maaji further appealed to road users and other stakeholders to continue to give the commission more support to enable it discharge its duties diligently to reduce road accidents and traffic.
