The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Tuesday, said its officials closed three unregistered bakeries and a sachet water factory in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This was revealed in a statement on the official X (formerly Twitter) of NAFDAC.
According to the statement, the facilities were said to be operating in makeshift structures with poor hygiene standards, posed serious health risks to consumers.
The unregistered bakeries, located in Rumuoparali and Mgbuoba areas, were found to be operating in unsanitary conditions, including the use of a lister generator inside the production room.
The State Coordinator of Rivers State, Emmanuel Onogwu urged the public to continue providing valuable information to NAFDAC, facilitating the Agency’s efforts to ensure the safety and quality of regulated products.
