The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Thursday destroyed fake, expired, and substandard goods worth N1.3bn in Abuja.
The items destroyed included drugs, hospital equipment, cosmetics, food items, and several other products.
The agency also destroyed expired food items voluntarily handed over by some local and international organisations, including the World Food Programme (WFP).
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, who was represented by Festus Ukadike, led government officials to the Kuje dumpsite in Abuja for the destruction.
