Nigerian comedian and influencer Anita Asuoha, widely known as Real Warri Pikin, has said her new web series titled, ‘Base On Street’ was created to honour the spirit of the Warri people and her fans.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, she said, “What inspired me to create this series was my love for my Warri people and the fact that I generally wanted something original and very relatable. Apart from the series being hilariously entertaining and educational, it also sheds light on the ugly side of prostitution and the importance of making a critical decision in one’s life.”
Giving insights into the synopsis of the movie, Real Warri Pikin said, “The series follows the journey of two sisters who leave Warri for Lagos in search of greener pastures. When they can’t find their old friend, they’re left stranded and must figure out how to make ends meet. As they take on a series of unconventional jobs, their adventures will keep you entertained and glued to your screen.”
She further noted that the series aims to emphasise the importance of gathering sufficient information before embarking on any endeavour, as well as the need for critical thinking when making life decisions, since these choices can significantly alter the course of one’s life. “Another point that really resonates is the issue of prostitution and how it should never be considered, no matter how difficult life may be,” she said.
Aside from herself, other actors in the series include Ruth Dickson, Nonso Adika-Afolabi, Oluwatosin, Akorede Ajayi, and Alvin Odibo.
