Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has emphasised that the birth of Jesus Christ remains the ultimate solution for mankind’s redemption from sin and its eternal consequences.
The Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, quoted Mutfwang as speaking during the Christmas Service held at COCIN II Ampang West in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State. He urged believers to seize the Christmas season as an opportunity to reconcile with Christ and embrace the free gift of salvation.
“My prayer is that God will help us recognise the true essence of Christmas. Christmas is not just a time for eating and drinking; it is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, which offers salvation and reconnects us with God. God Himself paid the ultimate price because no human effort could save mankind.
“I urge us not to lose sight of the true meaning of this season. If the birth of Jesus does not hold personal significance in your life, then its essence is lost to you. May none of us be found disconnected from Christ,” he stated.
The governor expressed profound gratitude to the people of Plateau State for their unwavering support since his assumption of office. He assured them of his administration’s commitment to delivering remarkable transformation in the state.
Highlighting his vision for 2025, Governor Mutfwang described the initiatives already in place as the foundation and springboard for greater development. He called for peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among the various communities in Plateau State.
The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, thanked the people for their continuous support and commended the Governor for his exceptional leadership, which has made Plateau residents proud.
He acknowledged the positive impact of Governor Mutfwang’s administration on the state’s economy, healthcare, and education sectors.
In his sermon titled “The Birth of Jesus Christ: Good News to Believers and Bad News to Non-Christians” and drawn from 1 Timothy 1:15, Rev. Peter Mangset, Chairman of the RCC Ampang West, described the birth of Jesus as the cornerstone of salvation for mankind.
Rev. Mangset also lauded Governor Mutfwang’s leadership, which has enhanced the security of lives and property across Plateau State. He expressed gratitude for the ongoing road construction projects and other developmental strides achieved under the governor’s administration.
