Telegraph Fantasy Football: most selected players
As Telegraph Fantasy Football managers suffer the fourth international break of the season it offers a great chance to once again take stock of the most popular players in the player list and assess the themes and trends forming up and down the pitch.
Starting with the front line Erling Haaland has seen a slight drop in ownership following his injury over the winter. Mohamed Salah’s injury has seen him drop out of the top 10 all together and has been replaced by Ollie Watkins who has surpassed his Norwegian counterpart in points accumulated this season and jumped up 15% in ownership since the last international break.
In midfield Bukayo Saka and Jarrod Bowen have retained their positions throughout the winter, but there are three notable new additions in the form of Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon who are all trying to play themselves into Gareth Southgate’s starting XI for Euro 2024.
Whilst the defensive assets in the top 10 have not changed in the last few months, their popularity has. William Saliba has jumped up 10% in popularity whilst Kieran Trippier has seen a huge 21% fall from grace. Guglielmo Vicario keeps his spot on the list despite Spurs’ inconsistent form as he still proves value for money at just £2.5m.
