The Ministerial nominee for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe, has applauded the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Senator Simon Ball Lalong, for his support over his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Dr. Nentawe, who was at the residence of the Senator in the company of well-wishers and friends, described the appointment as the will of God and the benevolence of the President.
He appreciated Senator Lalong, whose leadership he said has remained pivotal to the success of the APC in Plateau as well as his nomination to the Federal Executive Council.
Nentawe said the appointment is a victory for the APC and the people of Plateau State, who demonstrated enormous confidence and goodwill during the last elections where he contested for governor.
He promised to do his best in serving the nation as well as ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is achieved, particularly in his designated ministry of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction.
He assured the people of Plateau State and the APC that he would not disappoint them, urging them to pray for him to succeed.
While welcoming the Minister-designate, Senator Lalong thanked God for making the appointment possible and also appreciated President Tinubu for giving consideration to the matter.
He said although the people of Plateau State and the APC family were anxious and even agitated, their patience has paid off with the President giving Plateau the responsibility to handle a key ministry that will handle humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction.
Lalong said the appointment has rejuvenated APC on the Plateau, as the party will now continue to prove its capacity as it did during the last local government elections.
The former governor said he was confident that Dr Nentawe would deliver on the national assignment and make the people proud, and he assured that he would rally around his colleagues at the Senate to ensure that Dr Nentawe is giving a successful screening exercise.
