Serving as the Minister of State for Police Affairs was a defining period of my career, and I am grateful for the opportunity it afforded me to contribute to strengthening our security architecture.”
According to the minister ” Among the achievements I am most proud of is the accelerated delivery of the National Criminal Data Fusion Center.
This state-of-the-art facility now serves as a centralized hub for integrating and analyzing identity data, a transformative tool that is already enhancing our ability to track and neutralize threats in real-time.”
She also added ” Another pivotal focus of my tenure was the advancement of community policing.
Through numerous town hall meetings and grassroots engagements, we fostered a deeper connection between communities and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), creating solutions tailored to specific security dynamics
Strengthening the partnership with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) was particularly impactful, as it improved intelligence sharing and collaboration across the board.”
The former minister of State for Police Affairs also added that ” ” I also championed critical reforms such as the National Policing Policy, which is designed to enhance the operational effectiveness of the NPF
. Under my leadership, we pushed for the NPF Gender Policy, which has already led to improved gender balance within the force, including the inclusion of a female officer in its leadership team—an important milestone that demonstrates the evolving inclusivity of the institution.”
She noted that ” Today, as Minister of Women Affairs, my focus has shifted to addressing another equally pressing issue: the empowerment and protection of women and children, who remain some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
We are working tirelessly to tackle gender-based violence, support survivors, and enhance women’s access to economic opportunities.
Through initiatives like the Nigeria for Women Project, we are scaling efforts to economically empower women, recognizing that economic security is a critical component of overall safety and stability.Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we are also strengthening the legal and institutional frameworks that address issues of child protection, gender equality, and inclusive development.
Our goal is to ensure that no Nigerian woman or child is left behind, and we are committed to implementing tangible, transformative programs that deliver measurable results.”
The minister stated ” Let me extend my gratitude to the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria for this recognition and for their invaluable role in shaping narratives around security and justice.
“The media is a critical ally in our shared mission to uphold the rule of law, promote accountability, and ensure the safety of all Nigerians.
