A digital media platform, News Central TV, is set to collaborate with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Funds on projects focusing on critical social issues, including child rights, education, healthcare, climate change and amplify global issues through compelling storytelling across Africa.
In a statement obtained by Saturday PUNCH on Friday, the Director of Commercial and Communications, Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan, said the collaboration was part of ongoing efforts by both organisations to address global challenges, especially those affecting children in Nigeria and Africa.
Egabor-Afolahan noted the station’s history of producing content on global development issues and fostering dialogue on solutions through various platforms.
She said, “We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with UNICEF to shine a brighter light on the pressing challenges facing children and communities in Africa. At News Central, we believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change, and our collaboration with UNITED could help drive the conversation forward on critical issues.”
The Deputy Executive Director of Partnerships, Kitty Van der Heijden, who led the UNICEF delegation, stated that by leveraging News Central’s extensive reach and engagement across the African region, both organisations could raise awareness and mobilise action on key issues affecting children and marginalised populations.
