Modibbo Adama University, Yola celebrates the first Post Harvest Physiology and Storage Technologist in Northern Nigeria.
Celebrating the first ever specialist in post- harvest physiology and storage technologist in northern Nigeria, Professor Vadlya T. Tame, the Registrar of the institution Mallam Usman Mustphar Maigawa said the feat achieved by the Department of Crop and Horticulture Production will help boasting sustainability as well as increasing the economic power of the farmers, the state and the country.
Mallam Maigawa noted MAU has proven that it has what it takes to produce world class resource persons that can help in galvanizing the economy through various field.
He congratulated the newly promoted Professor Vadlya Tame who is the Head of Department of Crop Production for putting the name of the school in global lame light.
He urged him not to rest on his oras but explore new grounds and also train students in the same field.
Speaking to Tribune online, Professor Vadlya T. Tame said ” this not just me but the for the entire university community and the society”.
Adding that the wastage being faced by farmers will be reduced, stressing with my expertise, I hope to make impact in our state and Nigeria at large”.
He added, “You will agree with me that we lose a lot as a result of lack of post harvest storage storage technology.

“With what we have now, we hope build on it to improve the storage of our farm produce, which will also help in improving our economy ”
Professor Tame who had his first, second and his PhD from Federal University of Technology (FUTY) now Moddibo Adama University ( MAU) thanked his alma Mata for giving the opportunity to serve and caring our research that led to this achievement.
He promised to avail himself to any student(s) that wish to study about this new challenging career in crop management , he urged schools to encourage academic research to enable students brake new grounds.
