The Maigari of Lokoja, HRM, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, on Monday donated drugs worth millions of naira to three Primary Health Care Centres in Lokoja as part of his activities marking his one-year anniversary.
The three Primary Health Care Centres that benefitted from the traditional ruler’s gesture are the Angwan Yashi, Angwan Kura, and Kabawa Primary Health Care Centres.
According to the Maigari, the drugs are to be given freely to patients, with an assurance of more support to improve the health of the people.
The Primary Health Care Centres, according to the traditional ruler during the visit, are also to be expanded and provided with drugs by the World Bank.
The gesture by the Maigari and the plan by the World Bank were disclosed by the Maigari as part of activities to mark his one-year anniversary on the throne of his forefathers.
The traditional ruler, who said the visit to the health centres underscores the priority he places on the health of the people, added that the gesture is also to appreciate the people for their support in the last year and tasked them to continue to live in harmony.
The Chairman of Lokoja LGA, Comr Abdullahi Adamu, and the Member representing Lokoja 1 in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Tijani Ebaya, described the reign of the Maigari as eventful for the people of Lokoja and expressed appreciation for the donation of the drugs and medicaments to the Primary Health Care Centres.
