Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Wednesday sent a representative to join the hundreds of mourners attending the funeral prayers for the victims killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Mafa village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the State.
The corpses were conveyed to Babban-Gida, the LG’s headquarters for mass burial, and the funeral prayer took place at the palace of Mai Jajere, led by Chief Imam Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf.
The State Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana represented Governor Buni and extended heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Jajere and families of the deceased.
Governor Buni, who is currently attending a meeting with the Chief of Defense Staff in Abuja to review the state’s security structure, donated 30 million Naira to the families of the deceased and injured.
The Governor also directed SEMA officials to provide food items and relief materials to the victims.
He condemned the insurgents’ actions, describing it as callous and barbaric, urging continued prayers for peace in the area and state.
Emir of Jajere, Mai Hamza Buba Mashio, expressed gratitude to the state government for its concern and immediate response, appealing for aid to the displaced people of Mafa.
Special prayers were offered by the Chief Imam for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant them Aljannatul Firdausi.
Recall that, Arogidigba Global Journal reported that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram terrorists group invaded Mafa community last Sunday killing many people, looting food items and valuables, as well as destroying houses.
