Unconfirmed report said that the victims were kidnapped on Monday along the Omu-Aran highway.
The kidnap victims were said to include Oloye Oyewole Abolarin, the head of hunters in Odo-Owa, his wife Funmilayo Abolarin, Tunde Oladipo and his wife and a woman identified as Bose, all from Agbele Igbede compound in Odo-Owa town.
It was also learnt that the suspected kidnappers had contacted families of their victims, demanding a N100 million ransom for their release.
In response, relatives and community members had started pulling funds to meet the demand, while also urging Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and security agencies to intervene.
While efforts to get confirmation of the incident from the state Police command are yet to yield positive response since the day of the incident, sources in the area, however, said that the victims regained their freedom on Christmas Day.
Also, attempts to confirm whether the ransom was paid before the release of the kidnap victims proved futile as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command was yet to provide information on the incident.
