Lobi Stars head coach Eugene Agagbe has said his team was unfortunate not to beat Kano Pillars on Monday.
The Pride of Benue held Kano Pillars to a 1-1 draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 18 encounter.
Stanley Ogabor put Lobi Stars ahead early in the game, while Sulaiman Idris equalised for the Sai Masu Gida before the end of the first half.
“My players were equal to the task. It is just unfortunate that we were unlucky with the result because you can see that we hit the goal post three times,” Agagbe said in a post-match interview
“The boys proved their worth and we will remain focused and approach the coming games with more vigour.”
Lobi Stars moved to the top of the summit following the win.
The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions will battle Plateau United next in the North Central derby on Sunday.
