Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), Ilorin, Kwara state has organized a three-day intensive training programme for 15 selected staff in different departments of the authority towards enhanced and improved performance.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the three-day training programme, packaged by Synergy Impact Development Centre, themed, Support for Development of Enhanced Service Delivery in Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, the managing director of the LNRBDA, Engineer Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, said that the ultimate aim of the programme is to upscale knowledge of the staff to meet with emerging demands of the society.

“Our aim is to upscale the knowledge of our staff to meet with demands of our society. Recall that the honourable minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, sometime ago, signed the ministerial performance bond with Mr. President. And in line with that, we have so many deliverables and priorities set by Mr. President on the Renewed Hope agenda.

“So, this training became imperative and we want to domicile those priorities and work towards achieving those priorities”.

The LNRBDA boss said that series of training programme that had been embarked upon by the authority in the past seven years is also in line with mandate of the authority to make great impact in the country.

Engineer Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, who commended the management of the establishment for promoting teamwork in his stewardship, said that the relationship culminated in solar energy power production for operations in the authority, thus, jettisoning national grid.

He expressed hope to see improved changes in the staff in the next few months towards the betterment of the authority, as number one authority in the country.

Also speaking on behalf of the participants, one of the staff at the training programme, Hajia Ghali Zainab, noted that the training was impactful.

Hajia Ghali, said that the participants were drawn from such departments as Administration, Registry, Public Relations, ICT, Accounts, Agriculture, Procurement, Planning/ Investigation/Design, promised that they would put all that was learnt at the training to practice when they get back to their different departments in order to push LNRBDA forward.

She also said that the staff were taken through such topics as Introduction to Enhanced Service Delivery, Customer Service Excellence and impacts on Productivity, Computerization of Registry, etc, adding that the programme is capable of impacting positively on their enhanced productivity.
