Former commissioner for rural and community development in Kano, Alhaji (Dr) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso has urged the State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf to leave the national chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje alone saying the move to investigate the former governor has “an hidden agenda”.
He stated this in a statement signed on Sunday and made available to journalists in Kano.
He disclosed that intention of probing Dr Ganduje’s administration is a political vendetta and would expose a lot of financial atrocities in the previous administrations.
He said; “We all know that Dr Kwankwaso and Governor Yusuf have an ambition of defecting to the APC”, adding that the “APC door is wide open for them to join the winning party”.
“But they should shelve all these negative moves and the desperation of tarnishing the image and reputation of Dr Ganduje if they wish to decamp to the APC they would be welcomed on board with open hands.”
He however advised the state governor to expedite action on distributing the large number of palliative items given to the state by President Bola Tinubu’s administration to the vulnerable people in the State.
“The government should also judiciously spend federal allocation collected from the federal government as a result of removal of fuel subsidy to address the yearning and aspirations of Kano people,” he added.
