LEADWAY Health Chief Executive Officer, Dr Tokunbo Alli, has said he is promoting initiatives for a transformative healthcare landscape in Nigeria by championing trust, transparency and collaboration as major pillars of excellence.
Dr Alli, the CEO of Nigeria’s premier health maintenance organisation (HMO), stated this at the annual conference and general meeting of Healthcare Foundation of Nigeria, with the theme, ‘Bridging the Gaps in Healthcare: Public-Private Integration as a Catalyst for Sustainable Growth.’
The event, which attracted experts cutting across the healthcare spectrum for elevated dialogue and actionable insights, saw the presence of speakers such as the Minister of State for Health, Dr Tunji Alausa and the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi.
Dr Alli stated the imperative of public-private collaboration in tackling Nigeria’s healthcare challenges with a vision to minimise out-of-pocket expenditures and ensure universal access to quality care through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions.
He said, “The path to reducing out-of-pocket expenses demands a unified effort between government and private entities. By pooling resources and deploying innovative strategies, we can make essential healthcare services accessible to all.”
Also, underscoring the pivotal role of trust and transparency in nurturing sustainable healthcare ecosystems, Dr Alli emphasised that “Establishing trust and fostering transparency among stakeholders is pivotal. With robust governmental policies and pioneering initiatives from leading HMOs like Leadway Health, we can simplify access to healthcare and drive tangible progress in the sector.”
