Youths in Lavun local government area of Niger state have been implored to give their maximum support to Governor Mohammed Umar Bago on his rural development agenda to guide against rural-urban drift.
They have also been asked to provide support to workers of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) working at road construction sites across various communities in the state.
The State Director General of RAAMP, Ambassador Nma Ahmed, stated this during his visit to the ongoing rural road construction sites last weekend.
He said, “My visits to the sites are to assess the extent of work being carried out, and I praise the tireless efforts and professional abilities of engineers in ensuring that the projects are constructed according to specifications.”
At one of the communities visited, the village head of Gbangbagi in Lavun Local Government Area, Mallam Ndana Mayaki, remarked on Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s proactive action within two weeks of the community experiencing partial flooding at the bridge as one of the governor’s leadership qualities.
According to the village head, “Engineers were drafted to the site to assess the extent of damage immediately at the bridge, and the prompt action by the government is humane and an indication that the governor means well for rural development.”
The DG admonished youths, as leaders of tomorrow, to “support Governor Umaru Bago, who is dedicated and committed to giving rural dwellers hope by ensuring they feel the impact of governance in line with the renewed hope agenda.”
