Students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Iseyin campus, on Monday staged a protest against the refusal of their lecturers to come to work.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that LAUTECH is one of the tertiary educational institutions owned by Oyo State government.
The Iseyin campus of LAUTECH which houses the College of Agriculture was established by Governor Seyi Makinde a few years ago.
Hundreds of students in Iseyin campus on Monday trooped out to protest what they called continuous absence of many lecturers who usually come to the Iseyin campus from Ogbomoso.
The students also claimed that the cost of transportation and accommodation have risen beyond their financial capabilities since they resumed after their last holiday.
A student who begged not to be named, appealed to the state government to save the situation.
“I was just informed that agric department students are currently protesting for some facilities to be made available for usage at there farms and some other peculiar requests like transportation costs, housing etc.
“They are also protesting the absence of most lecturers from the campus. We appeal on the education committee to kindly liaise with the school management for prompt resolution.”
