The Janaza (burial) of Kwara-born Lagos entertainer, Mukaila Senwele was done at the Muslim Cemetery in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Saturday.

Mukaila, a popular Lagos-based entertainer was buried according to the Islamic rites at the Cemetery in the presence of family, friends and admirers who thronged the burial ground to pay last respect to the musician.

PUNCH Online reports that Mukaila reportedly died in Ilorin on Friday evening after a performance at the birthday of his teacher, Alhaji Moshood Pakata.

38-year-old Mukaila hailed from Esinrogunjo family compound in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The late Mukaila Senwele was a great performer who was admired by many socialites for his unique style of entertainment and prowess.

ROYAL NEWS who spoke with a family member of the deceased in a telephone conversation gathered that late Mukaila was not sick before his death.

“No sign of sickness, he was with his fans throughout the day and he promised to come to the family house (Ile Esinrogunjo) later in the night.

“We just received an emergency call of his death where he lodged with his fans. On getting there, my elder brother (name withheld) together with some people tried to rush him to the hospital, unfortunately, we lost Mukaila to the cold hands of death.

“He died a few moments ago (tonight) and his Janazah has been scheduled for Saturday morning”, he said.

Late Mukaila Senwele’s Stage Manager, Mr. Ibrahim Toyeeb said that the comic singer died on Friday after a live performance in Ilorin.

Popularly known as “Omo taye nfe“, the Manager said in an interview with ROYAL NEWS shortly after the burial of the late singer on Saturday that his boss did not die on stage as speculated.

The manager who debunked the news that Senwele died while performing on stage said, “We eat and performed Asr prayers together. We all sat down together and suddenly around 5 pm, he said Ha! and gave up. That was all and we quickly rushed him to the hospital but he was already dead before we got there.”

The late Ilorin-born singer, Mukaila Senwele, performed for Alhaji Moshood Pakata, who marked his birthday.

In the viral video, the late Senwele eulogised the celebrant whom he claimed was his school teacher and father.

He prayed for a long life in good health and wealth for the celebrant.

“Before he died yesterday, he had earlier recorded two songs and I was the person who recorded him. We uploaded one yesterday (Friday) and we planned to upload the second record today (Saturday).

“He planned to return to Lagos today, unfortunately, the end has come for him”, Toyeeb said.
