Kwara state government said it has received 12,058 bags of grains, including maize, millet, and sorghum from the Federal Government.
The state commissioner for Information, Mrs. Bola Olukoju, in a statement on Thursday gave the breakdowns of the 12,058 as follows: 7,042 50kg bags of maize; 2,916 50kg bags of millet; and 2,100 50kg bags of sorghum (which are still being received as at today).
The state government also announced the receipt of 8,700 of 25kg bags of rice, according to the commissioner.

The statement said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, will flag off the distribution of the grains in the state very soon — in a manner that would follow the distribution template sent by the Federal Government.
“The state government has constantly supported the Kwara public to cope with the inconveniences that trailed the removal of fuel subsidy”.
