A swift response by operatives of the Kwara State Hearth Service on Tuesday averted a serious hearth catastrophe in Ilorin, the state capital.
Based on the spokesman of the Service, Hassan Adekunle, the brigade was alerted when a tanker with registration quantity KW 117XB transporting 20 tons of liquefied petroleum fuel, LPG, was reported to be leaking profusely at about 06.41hours.
“The fireplace crew promptly departed from the station, upon arrival, found a unfastened valve on the tanker inflicting the hazardous leakage.
“Initiating their operation, they effectively cooled the tank, enabling the tanker driver to shut the valve.
“Regardless of the efforts, a noticeable leakage continued, prompting the hearth crew to accompany the tanker to its vacation spot, Imam Filling Station, to avert any potential disasters.
“The Kwara State Hearth Service personnel ensured the secure syphoning of the LPG,” he added.
Director of the Kwara State Hearth Service, Falade Olumuyiwa, counseled the operatives their swift response.
He equally urged most of the people to prioritize security.
