Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas on Monday presented the 2025 budget estimate of ₦429,898,968,402.31 to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The budget allocates 39.9% to recurrent expenditure, while capital expenditure is expected to take up 61% of the total budget sum.
The governor disclosed that the theme of the budget, “Budget of Transformation”, reflects the blueprint of his administration, which aims at transforming the state in terms of infrastructure and creating an atmosphere where people can explore available opportunities for growth.
He noted that the 2024 budget has recorded a 46.7% implementation rate so far and assured that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure improved budget performance in the coming year.
Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Kizito Bonzena, highlighted the state’s significant progress in security, education, human capital development, workers’ welfare, and infrastructural rehabilitation.
Bonzena, who described the 2024 budget performance as fair, assured that the House would work tirelessly to ensure the quick passage of the budget without compromising thoroughness.
