The Kebbi State government has unveiled plans to establish a modern Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Kawara village, located in the southeastern outskirts of the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Nasir Idris, accompanied by top officials from the Ministry of Lands and Housing and the Secretary to the State Government, recently visited the proposed site.
During the visit, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, TPL Abubakar Ahmed presented the layout of the planned GRA. He emphasized that the project would not only expand the boundaries of Birnin Kebbi but also boost housing availability and generate additional revenue for the state.
Governor Idris commended the ministry for its forward-thinking approach, describing the project as a transformative initiative that would benefit future generations.
He further highlighted that the completion of the GRA would contribute significantly to improving the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Construction is expected to commence once the state government finalizes and approves the award of the project contract.
