Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has declared his administration plan to empower over 50,000 people with N5b just had he commissioned a refurbished government hospital in Suru town, Suru Local Government Area of the state which cost about N40m through communal efforts.
It was gathered that an indigene of the town, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad, contributed N30m out of the total sum towards the completion of the hospital.
While speaking at the event, Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris,who commended the donors, disclosed that his administration would kick off empowerment program worth N5 billion in the state which will benefit about 50,000 people with N100,000 each.
The Governor also commissioned the newly constructed Imam Malik Jumuat Mosque in Suru Town, which was also was built by Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad.
Idris praised Ahmad for his initiative, sacrifices for the humanity,in constructing the mosque and encouraged others with the sufficient capital to undertake similar projects.
He also acknowledged the contributions of JIBWIS and commended the Ulamas for their role in guiding and shaping the community under the leadership of Shiek Dr Abdullahi Bala Lau.
Governor Idris also laid the foundation for the construction of an Islamiyya School, a two-storey building with eight classrooms and an administrative block, also funded by Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad, AI Suru.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau who also spoke at the event, emphasized the importance of using wealth in ways that could benefit the community and services to God.
