Journalists under the aegis of the Kogi Central Journalists Guild (KCJG) have urged the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last governorship election in Kogi State, Muritala Ajaka, to cease legal hostility and join Ododo’s development initiatives.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Guild’s President, Malam Muhammad Tijjani AbdulSalam, and the Secretary, Mr Ozumi Abdul, which was made available to the press in Kano. The Guild also enjoined Governor Ododo to be magnanimous in victory.
The journalists’ group commended Governor Ododo’s commitment to service delivery and community empowerment while also calling on Kogi State’s number one citizen to sustain the tempo.
AbdulSalam stated that “Governor Ododo’s victory today is a victory for democracy and good governance. It is time for all stakeholders to rally behind his administration and support the initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Kogi people.
“This legal validation not only underscores the legitimacy of Governor Ododo’s leadership but also clears the path for continued progress and stability of governance in Kogi State,” the group said.
AbdulSalam hinted that “Despite the legal hurdles faced in recent months, Governor Ododo’s administration has forged ahead with notable achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agricultural development.”
“His vision for a prosperous and inclusive Kogi State remains steadfast, driven by a commitment to fulfil campaign promises and meet the aspirations of every citizen.
“The group urges Governor Ododo’s opponents to channel their energies towards constructive engagement and collaboration for the collective benefit of the state.
“Let us set aside differences and work together towards a brighter future for Kogi State. We have noticed that Governor Ododo’s administration is open to dialogue and partnership as he strives to deliver on the dividends of democracy.
“The victory at the Appeal Court not only validates the people’s choice but also reinforces the resilience of democratic institutions in Kogi State,” the statement reads.
